October 2010

Time for my monthly update (pathetic I know!)

The month started with my brother's engagement party (Chris, me, Courtney, Gary, Mandy, and Matt). I should have worn heels, I look like a midget!

The hubby and me (he's a groomsman!)

Mom and me

I had the honor of joining my BFF to shop for her wedding dress! As Maid (matron...) of Honor, I got to be one of the first to see the dress. THIS IS NOT THE DRESS! I wouldn't ruin the surprise! Her dress is stunning and 100% her.

After a day of wedding shopping!
(This picture has made in abundantly clear I desperately need to chop my hair off. Horrible.)

See this face?
It's Mylie's way of saying she's OVER being a pumpkin for Halloween. 3rd year in a row. I suck at life.

Our house decorated for Halloween during the day...

...and at night. We take taking decorating for holidays seriously in this house!

This baking soda concoction Chris made glowed PERFECTLY under the black light. So creative!

Yes, this post is short and pathetic and a perfect representation of my life at the moment, HAHA! School literally takes up every.single.moment of my free time so there is little to no time for fun now. Only 1 week until Thanksgiving break and 4 weeks until Christmas break! I think I can, I think I can...

September 2010

We started the month with a Longhorn game at Reliant Stadium over labor Day weekend! What better way to start the month? Hook Em Horns!

SO GLAD the whole family could come...our seats were pretty much amazing.

Sisters

Even our Aggie best friends came to cheer for the Horns! I'm sorry, I shouldn't say such things about my best friend. She's 51% Longhorn, 49% Aggie.

We could be sisters. Wait, we are :o)

About to score!
We ended up winning easily...we were playing Rice for crying out loud!

We decided to round out Labor Day weekend with a little grilling...redneck style. We had to grill in the garage due to the intermittent POURING rain! It was still fun...

...Mylie LOVES grilling with Daddy!

We picked up Maggiano's one lovely Friday night and spent the evening with out dear friends, Alli and Taylor. We were so excited to meet baby Bennett!

We had Courtney, Laura, Morgan, and Brecca over for the UT/Tech game. We had a blast time with good food, good drinks, and GREAT company! And shots every time UT scored...

...UT scored A LOT that night, lol. It was after this shot my husband took the UT flag off the front of the house and ran it up and down our street. We take football, seriously ya'll.

We played hide and seek and spent LOTS of time chasing a certain purple ball...

And to round out the month, we celebrated 4 years of marriage at, where else? The Melting Pot! I absolutely LOVE that place!

October so far has been nothing short of insanely stressful and the school year is really starting to take it's toll. I'm hopeful to spend my time that is not consumed with school having fun with family and friends. I figure it I do enough of that, I can drown out the school garbage, right?

Baby Fever

Our precious friends Alli and Taylor welcomed Bennett in August, and Chris and I were SO excited to get to visit them a couple weeks ago! I will tell you, that beautiful, cuddly boy has officially given me Baby Fever!!!

Our trip to Austin!

Dropping Mylie off at my Mom and Dad's. Great chance for a family picture :o)
We stopped for lunch at El Arroyo in Austin and dropped an obscene amount of money at the UT Co-op but sadly, all the pictures we took during this time were ruined when the camera malfunctioned :o(

Moving right along...

In the HAUNTED elevator on the way up to our room!
(We were in fact haunted by a ghost while we were there! The ghost of a small child that fell down the stairs and died in the early 1900's. We kept hearing "Mommy, mommy" and giggling EVERY. SINGLE. TIME we stepped off the elevator and there was never a child ANYWHERE in sight. Creeeeeepy!)
Views of our room at The Driskill in Austin.

Views of the Driskill from the street. Honestly, the most beautiful hotel I have EVER seen both inside and out!!!

Me on our balcony. I never once looked down. I would have had a panic attack.

Hello, I live here. (the GIANT hot tub in our bathroom!)

Sunset view of 6th Street from our balcony.

I would drive back to Austin right now for another piece of that chocolate cake!

Room service breakfast. The fruit and banana bread were a-mazing!

Goodbye Driskill. We will be back without a doubt!

Waiting for a table in The Oasis garden area.

The second day we enjoyed lunch and the views of Lake Travis at The Oasis.

Walking around the Arboretum waiting for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.

This may seem random but as a kid my family would make a yearly trip to Austin for a Longhorn game, and we would ALWAYS stop at Amy's Ice Cream in the Arboretum and take pictures with these cows, haha! They are probably older than me!

Mylie was SOOOO happy to be going home. She missed us but not as much as we missed her!

This was Mylie for the next 2 days straight! My parents said she didn't stop moving the entire time she was there except to sleep at night!
