Please, pray for Stellan!

I've asked in the past for prayers for this precious boy and his family. If you pray, get on you knees now and pray! He is not doing well.

Lord, be near this little boy and his family! Place your healing hands on him! Wrap your arms around his family and hold them near to you...let them feel you presence!

Buying our home

We closed on July 6, 2009 at 4:30pm. We found out WHEN we were closing July 6, 2009 at 1pm. Seriously. Add to that we had been painting/landscaping for the last 48 hours prior and this day in particular we had been moving since 7am from our 3rd story apartment, in 101 degree heat. Our movers didn't arrive at the new house with our stuff until 4:10pm, and we were closing almost an hour away! Needless to say we now know Chris's car can handle 100mph :o) Thank Heavens for my sister, dad, and mom who came over and handled the unloading of the moving truck so we could run off to close. I have never...in my entire life...been so exhausted. I broke down crying many times that day (and the day after since we still weren't done moving, lol). I have also never felt so accomplished, proud, or thrilled as I was when the house was officially OURS! We celebrated with wine, Whataburger, and candy at my mom and dad's (since our bed was still in pieces at home and we were in no frame of mind to put a king sized bed together we stayed at my Mom and Dad's). Food never tasted so good, lol!

Signing the last few papers! We closed in 45 mins...some kids of record, I think.

WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!
During the process of buying this house, just about everything went wrong. The only think that wasn't a pain the the rear was qualifying for financing. That was a breeze so I foolishly assumed it would all go as smoothly. Silly me. Our Realtor told us, in her 15 yrs in the business, she has never had such a hard sell. The builders had everything they needed from us, as soon as it was asked for, yet they continued to drag their feet with everything! Bless Cindi's heart, if she wasn't Chris's stepmom she probably would've decided the commission wasn't worth the hassle, and we would have been up a creek.

We went through 2 wrong
appraisals (thanks to the good ole US government deciding THEY should decide who appraises houses, not the Realtors as it has always been. Heck, what doesn't the government control these days? I should move on, that's a completely different post...), 3 inspections which all found STUPID things wrong that could be attributed to NOTHING but laziness and lack of attention to detail (the french doors rotted because they never painted, they never closed off the wires to the heater, the water heater was rusted through because they never bought a 15 cent hose which caused a leak, etc), interest rates sky rocketing, them constantly asking for more money (often, with no reason as to why), and in general just taking their sweet time on everything in the process this whole thing finally ended. We almost walked away 4 times because we had reached out wits end! That being said, 3 weeks later than planned, we closed. Better late than never, right?

I'm going to post pics soon. In fact, it will probably be an all picture post as I have rambled enough in this one!
