Texas BEAT Ou, HEAD to HEAD, on a NEUTRAL site, 45-35. That's all that SHOULD matter. That's all that it SHOULD take to make UT Big 12 South Champs, but I'm afraid that's not the way things will play out. Now that TX, Ou, and Tech all have 11-1 records, (though Tech will not go on because let's face it, they suck) the BCS will now decide who prevails, between TX and Ou. What happened on the field between these two seemingly matters little. In other words, THE FOOTBALL THAT WAS PLAYED, matters little.
The validity of the BCS hangs in the balance based on what they decide Sunday night. Do they award the team who was BEATEN head to head or do they award the team that BEAT them? It seems clear what the RIGHT choice it. TX SHOULD be, and quite frankly IS (despite the freaking BCS), The Big 12 South Champs.
I think Mark Schlaback of ESPN summed it up best when he said this: "Ou is the hot team as the regular season comes to an end. But Texas is a BETTER team. They have already proven it on the field."
HOOK EM HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
